SHOT SHOW 2013 Report: SRM Semi-Autom Tactical Shotgun

Some of you might have already heard about the SRM semi-automatic tactical Shotgun as it has been out for about a year and a half. We finally have the chance to play around with one in person and are quite impressed. The shotgun is relatively light weight and the operation is intuitive. Unlike many conventional semi-automatic shotgun, the SRM is utilizes a blow back system instead of being gas operated.

The biggest attraction to SRM is the way it arranges the feeding devices. It uses a 4 round magazine tube as its main feeding device. 4 separate magazines tubes are bundled together to hold 16 shells in total. To switch from one magazine tube to another, the user has to manually rotate the magazine tube by a push lever. This mechanism is recognized as a 4 round magazine in the state of California already.

Currently there are 3 versions available. 10" bbl ( 2 rounds per tube) 13" (3 rounds per tube) and 18.5" (4 rounds per tube)

It is not a rotary magazine. It has 4 magazine tubes that are bundled together for convenience, the same idea as duct taping 4 5-round AR mags together. This is the view held by California where magazine more than 10 rounds are not allowed.

RCMP has already ruled on this particular magazine.

They call it a 16 round capacity magazine. It would need to be pinned to 5 for Canada.

So basically you would have one fully functional tube, one tube plugged so it can only hold one shell, and the other two tubes blocked completely.

    Boo.

Maybe they can reclassify it? And follow California's perspective, because DO WANT.
