Shot Show Report 2013: Arsenal - Strike One pistol

This pistol really caught my eye at the show. It hasn't been approved yet for US sales, so it wasn't available for test firing on media day. The good news is that the FRT in Canada has been approved and it will soon be available north of the border. It was the rep. from Interammo that gave me the lowdown on it.

Its available in four different color schemes.

I was kind of partial to the OD green.

The first thing you notice about this pistol is how low it sits in your hand. The barrel center line is only 12mm above the hand, the lowest of any similar type pistol out there, according to the rep. The ergonomics on it felt great, and it was very point-able.

It has full length steel slide rails.

The barrel is held in by a pin.

From the front, it looks similar to a Glock.

    The mag release is ambidextrous.

The design of the magwell made quick mag changes a snap.

It uses magazines that bear a strong resemblance to Beretta magazines, however the rep. told me that they were not the same.

The slide rails are full length hardened steel.

The barrel is held in by a pin.

The pistol hardly has a feed ramp. The picture doesn't illustrate it very well, but the bullets are nearly going straight into the chamber. The pistol has a cyclic rate of something like 1800 rounds per minute due to this.

It does not use a Browning lock-up system. If functions more like a Beretta in that the barrel goes straight back and doesn't tilt, and that there is a separate lockup part.

The lockup part has it's own set of groves that it rides in.

The company offers a long range conversion for it:

They also have a variety of holsters, mag carriers and other accessories available for it.

I really like this pistol and have put my name down on the waiting list for the first ones that will be available. I'm anxious to see how it feels to shot it and how accurate it is.

I'd be a little worried about getting cut by the slide as it travels back and forth.

You'll need to be very careful how you grip it when firing.

The MSRP is something like $650, but I can't remember if that was US or CAN. I'm going to contact Interammo to get some CAN prices and some pics of the accessories since there didn't have any there and there are none on the website. The drop-leg tac holster is pretty nice looking from the catalog pic...

I'm not, the tail clears my hand completely and I have big mitts. You have a higher chance of getting bitten by a standard 1911.

Damn, hideous looking IMO but your closer inspection photos detailing it's design has me VERY interested in getting one or at least trying it out.

The recoil spring is very interesting. The coils appear to be made from a flat spring steel instead of the common round piano wire.
