WANT sooooooo bad! I thought these had pretty much disappeared in Canada. The timing of this for me is terrible!

Wow. K98k's are the "crack" of the firearms world. The demand just continues to go up and up (along with prices) and no end in sight. Actually, I think no end will ever be reached. 10 years from now a Russian capture K98 in any condition will go for $1,000 minimum, maybe sooner.

About 3 years ago I bought a BYF 44 with Swastikas intact in CGN for $450 (sold in 5 minutes with at least four "I'll take its" from what the seller told me, mind you). Last summer I bought a BYF 41 Russian capture (peened birds, "X" mark, black paint on the buttstock, etc.) for $500. It would have sold instantly here on CGN, but the guy put it on Firearms Canada. Even still, there were several people making offers and trying to get it. As it turns out, the guy lived near me and I told I would come and pick it up and give him the 5 bills that same day, so I got it.

I bet I could sell the rifles for $700-$800 now, maybe more for the one with the birds. Problem is, where could I get more from?

It's just ridiculous. I blame Call of Duty. It's funny too that, if it is just another Mauser 98-type rifle, with no Germany WWII provenance, the things have very little value. It's all about the "German thing".

It's because they are all long gone... the first few minutes after people realized they had some for sale.
