Mine arrived today! Topped with a 3.5 ACOG and off to the range.....
I'm curious though - are these new rifles the same ones being produced by IWI US? If so, why the added $800? The MSRP is stated to be $1999 last I checked. Do the backup irons in the pic have anything to do with the hike?
Otherwise, looks pretty sweet! I plan to own one in the future - just hope I can keep mine when/if I get it, being in Montreal and all...
The ones produced in IWI U.S. are all restricted by nature of the barrel length. The longest barrel IWI U.S. produces is 18". The U.S. one also is compatible with a 9mm and 5.45 conversion kits. Ours are built in Isreal still.Originally Posted by novacane

The said 18-inchers should meet the requirements, no? The Tavor's not a restricted firearm, afterall.
Barrel must be minimum 18.5" to be classified as non-restricted...........

BAH! What bull. I'm hoping these laws will change by the time I get my PAL.
In the meantime, maybe we can ask our US friends to make some 18.5 versions for us.
Highly doubt the US IWI will make 18.5" ones ...since the IWI in Israel already make 18.5" tavors.
