In other words, if X months have passed then we might reasonably assume that perhaps the CZ 858 WON'T be reclassified? If say, the investigation into the SAN started years before the CZ 858, then we could extrapolate that we aren't out of the woods yet with the CZ 858 (ie. it might still happen in the future).

All that secret memo says about the CZ-858 is that an argument could be made for prohibiting it. Logically, that means that they are saying it is a "scary AK like rifle" and should be prohibited by name, not that there is some legal reason for prohibiting it. That the rifles left the factory as semi-auto rifles has already been verified by the manufacturer at the time they rifles were imported.

The secret memo as also been redacted to death. Who knows what those #######s are truly coming up with. They probably omitted all the stuff that shoots holes in their arguments.

I hope you and Mantis are right. It's hard to discern the truth from the hearsay. The only thing that has proven reliable is the RCMP's disposition toward banning guns on meaningless technicalities and pure nonsense. I appreciate that the memo doesn't have any substance in the wording, but that hasn't deterred the RCMP in the past from the ban hammer.

As I remember the NDP got the Lib's to take that out of the constitution before they would agree to the repatriation of it . The socialist ideal is that no ones owns property , it's all for the common good . As to what happened in the past just ask me . A $150,000 worth of firearms waiting in gun safes to meet the grinder . As somebody mentioned earlier , didn't cost the government a dime . Take a look at the educrats too .....punishing kids who even draw guns . Social engineering at its finest .

Can this be explained further? If I don't have rights to my property, then who does? How could the government have rights to my property, but I get to pay for it! What about liability for that property? Are they offering to pay morgtages and insurance for the right to my house??

Don't buy the BS that you don't have property rights in Canada. Property rights are an essential part of British Common Law, which applies in Canada as it was enshrined in the BNA Act of 1867 and again in the Constitution Act in 1982. Just because property rights are not spelled out in the Charter does not mean you dont have them, you do and don't let anyone tell you otherwise.

Uh, The document in question, states the 'Family of VZ rifles' did anyone else notice that it also says the 'AR family of firearms'? Maybe the held shipment is a completely different issue than stated in this 3 year old Report.

I like cats. Apparently, cats like me. As long as I keep breathing, they probably won't eat me.

With that, I have brought something real and meaningfull to this thread.

Wolverine: I hope you get your product soon, how rude, and counter-productive.

I agree, except for the part about cats. I hope Wolverine gets their product soon as well.
