I wanted to give people an update on things from Tanfoglio.
I received an email from Tanfoglio over the weekend that explained why things have been delayed lately.
Basically, the country has changed the rules for export without giving any of the manufacturers any notice and has yet to determine the correct process to allow exports - but won't relax the new rules so companies can operate until the government departments figure out how to implement the new rules.
(Makes a lot of sense, huh? Hence the title of the thread...)
Italian gun makers can export to other parts of the EU right now, but they can't get permits to export to other parts of the world - including North America.
This is not just Tanfoglio, this includes Beretta, Benelli, Pedersoli, Chiappa, Perazzi, Pietta, & Uberti.
The association of firearms manufacturers in Italy are working on this and there will be a solution, (you can only imagine how much business these companies do that reflects on the country's GDP!!!) but they just don't know when it will get solved.
My shipment for Stock IIIs and mags and some other products are waiting to fly and once approval is sorted out, it will be on it's way.
I don't know how this will effect the Appeals and Stock IIs due in late July, but right now - I'm hoping it will not - but of course, I will update you as things progress.
PLEASE NOTE: THIS DOES NOT EFFECT TANFOGLIO XTREME PARTS BY ERIC GRAUFFEL / TANFOGLIO.
UPDATE JULY 22 2013: ITALY IS NOW DOING EXPORT PERMITS TO NORTH AMERICA. THINGS ARE STARTING TO FLOW AGAIN, BUT IT HAS CAUSED A 2 MONTH - ACROSS THE BOARD DELAY IN PRODUCT.
