    WTB 10/22 Barrel

Hello, i wish to buy a barrel for my 10/22

It's the SR22 model, so has to fit the stock
Wish for 12'' in lenght with 1/2x28 thread at the end
Non need for fluted, but stainless steel would be nice if there is no big price difference

    Thanks

I have some Mcgowen barrels that will do very nicely for what you want.

Give me a PM or email and we will get you sorted out.

Hi Jerry, thank you very much for guiding me into this and providing excellent service
Here is the start of my build, i am happy to say that a SS mcgowen 13" weights almost the same as a stock ruger .750" by 16" long

Hi Jerry, a good buddy of mine likes rebuilding 10/22's and was pretty impressed with the accuracy this barrel has. We have grouped an inch at 40 yards with a red dot, and i aint no top shooter either.
He would like to start a new build and may be interested in a McGowen barrel, i had 2 questions for you. The build would be for a benchrest 10/22 btw.

What barrel lenght gives the best accuracy for precision 22? He was under the impression that 22''+ was the norm but after seeing the 12'' perform it got us wondering.
What would make McGowen stick out from the competition from, let's say a KIDD barrel?

Any links with these information could be cool, i know it might not be the place to discuss this but i have good trust in your shop for precision builds.
We never know i might get another barrel to come out your door...

If you want the peak accuracy, Shilen would be the brand I choose and I would go with the Select match grade. This is one of the dominant barrels in 50BR (rimfire benchrest) in the US.

Unless you are going to shoot the very best ammo, McGowen and the reg. Grade Shilens will put a big smile on your face.

Shilen is making them faster these days especially if you want a HB SS 20" type barrel. I feel 20" or 18" is ideal for a bench rig.
