I don't see the safety or mag release being a huge deal, but the trigger is, IMO.

    What a poor design flaw.
Which one is that? I haven't noticed this with the T97.

My 1st gen Tavor does that. I haven't noticed it with the T97 either.

Tavor is a proper western rifle at a western rifle price, well engineered, well thought out. The T97 is just more Chinese crap for the Canadian Tire collection, but it's priced to reflect that. If you have the $ no question, Tavor.

Easy...Tavor. The T97 (while economically priced) doesn't hold a candle to the Tavor...easy choice if you have the scratch.

I'd bet (a small amount) that the T97 would shoot more rounds under adverse conditions with out failing to function. The whole gas/operating system looks well thought out to me.

    Tavor is way overpriced.
Bullpups are not a useful design in my opinion.
Sold mine and got the sig classic green... now that is a nice rifle.

Early Tavors seem to be the main culprit, of which mine is one.

Google "Tavor Eye" for more info on the problem.

A $3,000.00 rifle should not s*it hot gas onto it's users eyes from below the safety glasses. Unacceptable flaw that never should have been.

Glad to hear that most new ones don't have the problem, but the fact that it existed at all makes me leery of the firearm.
You know you are a real gunnut when you start practicing trigger control on power tools.

Handled both today. Couldn't pass up the price on the 97 so I brought one home.
