I will have a thorough update late Friday, possibly early Saturday. We will be range testing in Nanaimo over the weekend with our revisions to the Stage 1 part, which I will now confidently call a Stage 2 part. Report to follow. Meeting today successfully brought about a myriad of important changes that will tie into the overall strategy going forward. I will have an image of the Stage 2 revision up on the thread shortly.

Awesome. This thread has sold me on a Blackfeather in the new year! Keep up the great work, it's nice to feel apart of your creative process.

Thank-you. The Blackfeather "RS" is currently out of stock. It will be 6-8 weeks before new inventory is available. Unfortunately, demand forecasting is a process that is still being learned here.

    The Stage 2 part.

    Primary changes:

    Angular lightening cuts
    Horizontal lightening cuts
    Angled fore end
Reduction of charging handle opening height
Side charging handle to ship included with secondary upgrade option
(Secondary upgrade option remains undisclosed at this writing until testing is completed this weekend. Announcement on this part could be made as early as next week).
Side charging type, handle length, overall size discussed (this part should be available next week for viewing)
Keyed aluminum structural support integrates with existing rifle frame and is double-locked

The Stage 2 part will see a reduction of material and significant testing on and off the range. We will be at the Nanaimo range Saturday October 19th from approx. 10am onward. CGN'ers who are reading here are invited to drop in for viewing and handling the new T97.ca FTU (flat top upper).

Im no expert but is does seem like those lightening cuts below the rail seem too big , looks like the rail will be less rigid and strong ? the material seems too thin between the rail and top lightening cuts, I would reduce the size and number of lightening cuts all round on this, does not look strong enough for me...

We can post results of a load analysis on the FTU fitted to the rifle next week. Materially and structurally the current design in model should offer good strength and rigidity for an optics mounting platform. If warranted, changes can be applied to this Stage 2 part.

If the latest diagram was up to scale, the whole thing now is longer (not quite possible) or lower than the original Stage 1 photo...

You are viewing a screen shot from Mastercam. Thanks for the photoshop image above.

We NEED lots of ways (and better ways) to mount a sling on this...options are good!!!

I agree. However, this modification should be done to the lower, not the optics mount.
