    Hello,
I will land in Edmonton in May.
I may need some assistance with the gun clubs, ranges and the local laws.
Any help will be highly appreciated.
    Thanks

If you would like to try an AR-15 I'd be happy to let you try my Stag 1R.

I also have a Colt .45 you could shoot.

Please feel free to PM me. I'd be happy to introduce you to this very fun sport.
I've been trying to buy a Gold Cup Trophy in SS myself. When and where did you get yours?

I'm in Airdrie, AB (15 mins north of Calgary) and am into milsurp rifles from WW1 and 2. I currently own a No.4 Mk.1 Lee Enfield 303 and a M1 Garand in 30-06. I have a Tikka T3 Varmint in .223 for my gopher/coyote/target shooting, and am going to be getting into pistols now as well. I just joined the Airdrie revolver and pistol club, so that will be where I'll be shooting.
I reload ammo for all three calibers I shoot and can help out with that as well.
On top of all that, I am in the process right now of getting my AHEIA firearms safety instructor's license as well, so I'm very open to the idea of helping people get into shooting.

I have just moved to Edmonton and wandered into the wild west shooting centre and I think I have found my new sport. I can't skydive since I broke my back. I like the old cowboy guns and have read a bit about cowboy action shooting but I would like to know about other competitive styles and how to what clubs are close to edmonton.
Thank you for the info on this

Phoenix if you want indoor (Just off Sherwood Park Freeway & 50th St)
Genessee is one of the better ones around for outdoor http://www.chas.ab.ca/
Also Sherwood Park Fish & Game if you prefer East of town. There are a few others around as well, I'm just not sure what they're called.

    Talking newbie alerta

    hi,
so new, i just finished my pal course today.
researching which gun to buy for target practice.
my goals are to get skilled enough to pass black badge course, and hopefully get into some combat shooting courses.
trained with philippine military and police commando units on my vacation this january. that's why i got this gun bug now. cant do judo chop kung fu stuff when the guy is spraying you from 20-30 yards!!
hopefully don't come across as a psycho with that last line. just a joke:D
anyhow, looking for information on gun clubs to practice at in calgary, and information on buying a quality 22 that i can easily upgrade my skills on to shoot larger calibre semi auto handguns.
    best regards,
    gord

    Currently awaiting my RPAL License
Living in Calgary and currently a Member at The Shooting Edge
What are other good options for Ranges in Calgary and area?
I am also looking at a SIG 226 for my first pistol, welcome any comments.
I would also be interested if anyone had the time to do some training on shooting.
