Meeting place for Newbies and Mentors -Manitoba

Meeting place for Newbies and Mentors
For those that have little to no experience, this is the place to contact those of us that are willing to meet with you, and let you pop off a few rounds.

Contact the following Mentors by PM (scroll over the user name to access the drop down menu) to arrange a range day meeting.

Isnt there anyone in Manitoba who is willing to give some advice and/or help? I know there are people out there, a type of person i would really like to find is a gun nut lawyer. they are the ones that would know what i can and cannot do. if there is anyone who knows the firearms laws inside out i would love to be able to talk to you. I find Canadas firearms laws Incredibly screwed up.

    welcome to the site, BC
What sort of shooting sports are you interested in?
Are you a hunter, competition shooter, other?
Your question is kind of hard to answer without more details. Hopefully we can help.

Sorry about that, i should have descibed what i am interested in.

    I am interested in learning,

    (A) how to properly shoot a rifle. (standing, kneeling, prone, & benchrest.)
    (B) how to start entering the world of competitive Rifle shooting.
    (C) Locations around winnipeg where long range shooting is possible (500m +)
    (D) The proper interpretations of firearms laws.
    (E) The science of external ballistics.
    (F) How to preform various minor and major modifications to my present and future rifles.
    (G) Anything Else Firearm Related.

Thats some of the stuff i want to learn, Right now the applicable ones Are A, B, D, E. the rest can wait. If you could steer me in a direction of club/group/association where i could learn A, B, D, & E. that would be nice. And if you know of some good online stuff for E that would help me too. thats the applicable stuff right now.

If you're interested in rilfes, you might want to consider checking out the Sierra Challenge on Oct 1st at the St Charles range in Winnipeg.

Send me a Personal Message and I can give more details. It's not really a great time to meet folks, but you can see some cool equipment and watch a match in action.

    Hi,

I'm a 22 year old guy living in the Peg looking for someone to introduce him to the sport. I've never fired a weapon before, but I'm interested in learning how for both practical and entertainment purposes.

Since I don't know anyone who shoots, is there someone here might be willing to take me to a range (I'm assuming theres a range near the peg that allows guests) and give me an absolute beginner's rundown? Or an event that I would be allowed to go to, etc etc?

I'ld be willing to take any newbies out in the Brandon area, time permitting. We have an excellent facility here, the Brandon Wildlife Association Range. Drop me a PM if interested....
