I took the savage for a ride to sight it in. I didn't get any great groups; not because of the rifle. I thought this table and folding chair would be alright. I was wrong. It was unstable and kept shifting in the sandy ground.
This kept happening:
Add to that getting killed by bugs despite showering in deep woods off, I wasn't having a great session. I am certain though that it is bang on at the 1" high at 100m that I wanted.
Started out at 1" low at 25M.
I am REALLY liking this set up. As sighted in I shot 3 targets in succession without changing zoom at 20, 40 and 100M. I found that it also shoots 150's pretty good (way better than my other savage), and favours 165's as my previous 1-10 twist savage. CRAZY light trigger when it is dialled down.
Overall, I LOVE IT. After stopping attempting to get groups I had some fun just shooting things with it. Fun little package. I look forward to bagging a deer with it this fall.
Now, some say his Pappy was an old 10-22, but we know his Mama was a SAVAGE!

This arrived last week from IRG, one of the surplus DPMS AR-15s with "extra character" from its time overseas. I love it!
My first AR, my first purchase with IRG, and couldn't be happier. Thank you for bringing these in!
