The market is flooded by a millions of striker plastic guns, so it boils down to personal preference in a lot of cases. Glock is still the relaibiity standard but the blocky and long trigger to thumb web distance is a distraction for smaller hands.
To be honest, there isn't really any technological break through with the Remington RP9. Its 18+1 9mm capacity beats most 17+1 models by 1. The ergonomic comes across more like the S&W MP but the slide styling comes across as Walter PPQish. If you cannot stand the "German" lower grip style that tends to push the thumb web down with a lower duck bill in the rear, the RP9 is more geared toward what the North American like with gripping high. It has the slick of the Walter on the upper half but American ergonomic in the lower half.
The MSRP is 499 USD on the tag.
