I'm thinking that .277 wolverine is a better option than 300 Black out. I'm considering custom barrels on other platforms. Easy on the budget and extremely close to 6.8 performance, downside is having to hand load, but if look at 300 blackout, I think most up here are doing that anyway.

this is a plinker. making it in an obscure caliber defeats the purpose.

And 300 black out up here isn't? .277 is taking off faster than 300 black out did, and it's cheaper to load. *shrugs* to each their own.

If there are cheap bullets available, I'll try anything once.

Hornady bulk fmj, Campro, Russian pull downs - hard to beat those for economy without huffing lead fumes

There is a very wide selection of bullet designs and weights in this caliber 70 to 130 in 1/11 twist, but they do cost - not like super cheap FMJ bulk projectiles. The cheapest I've been able to find for plinking are Remington 115gn roughly 28$ per 100 currently. More selection down south then up here, but still very good options for match target and hunting.

That Would be a really logical cartridge for me as I could hunt with it in sask. I would pretty much unload everything I needed to to preorder that right now.
