RS-Q2 Non Restricted Semi Auto .308 rifle

Saw the below ad posted, looks very intriguing and nice to have another semi on the market.

You mention that there is a .223 version coming, any details on that?

The FRT is not law but the government deliberately saying AKs are prohibited is law.

FRT isn't law but if the RCMP officer that stops you thinks this is an AR variant and so does the judge. Bye bye guns.

This looks great. I don’t understand how these FRT rules work though. How is this rifle any different from a Maccabee or ATRS modern rifle?

My understanding is that Macabee and ATRS applied for an FRT status originally which isn't needed. So you can make a rifle and sell it with no FRT status and say it meets all non restricted requirements. Until someone says otherwise. I'm not 100% sure on this and could be wrong.

I believe this looks like it uses all standard AR-15/10 style parts, however it only looks that way and most standard parts are not actually compatible with the receiver set. This was done intentionally to prevent it from falling victim to the trappings of being a “variant”.

I could be totally wrong, but I think I read this information somewhere.
