Are there any in Canada? I recall(probably just rumours) them being way overpriced so no one bothered importing.

I think a few have come in but not 100% sure.

The regulations require that a semi automatic center fire magazine must hold no more then 5 rounds. Most semi auto rifles will hold one in the chamber and 5 in the mag. So depending on how they look at it one would be lined up with the barrel ( ie the chamber ) and 5 in waiting ( ie the magazine). However logic does not seem to apply to the powers that be.

except the cylinder would be considered a magazine as it completely removes from the gun.
6 rounds = prohib device.

I'm with you. Sub $1000 might be optimistic, but at that price and non-restricted, I might just buy 2. There aren't any short OAL semi-auto shotguns available, and this would definitely fill that gap, even though it's a revolver. I'm not too interested in having a master key, so hopefully the mechanics of this gun work well as a standalone. As others have pointed out, cylinder gap might be blowing some harsh crud in your face. I'm looking forward to seeing this project develop.

Umm, that would be a first. There are already examples of six shot revolving actions that are non-restricted. Example: The Uberti carbine.

I was wondering if there was precedent set, this seems to be so, but is this carbine single action or double? If it's double then precedent is set, if it's single then there isn't because this shotgun's double.
