The antis have been pushing for 5 round maximum capacity by design.

They have said 'why should any firearm have a capacity greater than 5.

Then they also say that modifying a magazine for reduced capacity is a 'loophole'.

They want all the Lee Enfields...it never going to stop.

So is he going to "buy back" all of the magazines that have been sold in the last 25 years that have rivets in them?
My wife calls me a pessimist. I claim I'm a realist. But I'm probably just an a$$hole with an attitude problem.

They did this in NZ or Australia and people 3D printed them for additional income. Happens frequently in the USA when they offer "buybacks" too.

Where is this "They've stated" coming from? Who has stated what and where?

I don't see the point in making 5rd only magazines something easily obtained right now or "they" can easily just say "oh, go replace it with those". If we get stuck and have to replace our mags with 5rd ones that are not pinned then start making them.

What you are saying is like saying "we know they will ban the AR platform so lets all get rid of them and replace them with bolt actions", you are just making their lives easier to ban things.

However, I don't know whether they are any good or not. Don't seem to be available in Canada.

Pretty sure Cali already has this rule? Or somewhere must. Because I have one 5/30 round mag that is designed as 5 max right from factory. Came with an ar. And says can not be modded to hold more.
