Wow, Rob set the bar pretty high. I'm guessing most of the other guns mentioned here will be complete garbage in comparison. Notice the double triggers?

    Shane agrees!

But 12 ga with 308 win and a .222 insert you can choose how dead she be!

And who likes carrying spare rounds in your pockets... yuck

    Repro Sniper Lee-Enfield no.4-T

I would never dare taking an original into the field.

How about a 30 round mag AR with co witnessed flip up irons and a red dot like I ran with naked and unafraid in the 80s?
I'm no Fudd, and I appreciate the beauty!

Geesh! I never worried about being mugged in the bush before... But I might, carrying that around hunt camp! LOL!
The key to accuracy is to shoot first & call whatever you hit the target...

If you are not part of the solution, there's good money to be made by prolonging the problem...

Commercial Mauser 98: I'd guess 7x57, 30-06, 8mm but hoping 6.5x55 or 250-3000(though it's not a short action). Not to sound rude or anything, but I wouldn't be pounding nail shanks into what was a 3-4g rifle... neat sure, and there is a memory with each of those shanks worth remembering.

Given that I have been thinking of a safari, that will increase my already broad requirements: From targets and small vermin up to moose already requires at least two rifles, but if the safari includes dangerous game, then one more rifle will be necessary. But just one rifle I'm torn between a CZ in 6.5x55 or a combination 12ga over 7x65r. If I never left Ontario, I'd be mulling over a Remington 7 in 250-3000.
