I shot 1000 yards in total darkness using this setup last month in Texas - these things work great! Very easy to see hits in daylight and limited light.

It hangs on the back of a steel gong - the little angled part on the top sits above the top lip... so when you hit the gong, the light on the top flashes. It's a visible hit indicator - which is somewhat more reliable than the audible 'smack' of the gong.

How sensitive are these dealies? Would it be able to pick up something like a 55grain .223 bullet strike on a 12" 1/2" thick AR500 gong at 300m?

What happens if you shoot the little angled part? Buy a new hit indicator?

Their website link says: "The flexible rubber reflector is designed to withstand many impacts before needing to be replaced."

    This reply came from Magnetospeed
A lot plays into it, size of the target, thickness of the target, distance to the target, type of round, etc etc. We have had customers report it stay on with a .50 at varying long distances.
