Pre-orders are horrible for everyone involved. They never go smooth. We will not be doing a pre-order to bankroll this project.

Well, that is the price they are going for these days, also, from the pics and description I have seen, they are either light refurbs or issued but not refurbs or a combo of those, they don't seem to have been reblued like some I have bought and say blue wear and possible light pitting, so, may be some collector gems in there that haven't been refurbed at all, which could be worth more(collector wise) than the refurbs we were getting before!

If you don't have one already, I suggest you buy one of these. Don't listen to the complainers, basic supply and demand situation here.

A few months ago I was saying the same thing about the low 300$ mosins on WestRifle : ''thats kinda expensive''
Now I think I should have got one.
The only thing is that the more rare mosins didnt really rise that much so for a bit more money you can get those M44/M38 or the Finn captures and others.
At some point if they get more expensive only for the ''basic'' mosin it wont really be worth it in my opinion.

Indeed. I'm really glad I didn't sell my very pretty, all-matching 1934 hex receiver. I paid just over $100 for it...but that was 5 or more yrs ago...and I fully expected the value to go up.

These look to be refurbished to some degree. What I find more interesting than condition is the finish quality regarding date. Look closely at the the receiver on the third one from the left. You can see tooling marks which indicate it was made in a hurry with no time for refinement. I would bet that's a 1942. I have a 36' hex that is has a beautiful hunting rifle quality finish and a 42' that looks like it was chewed on by angry beavers. Cheap price for a very historical artifact.
