I can. No sharp edges, straight sights although the elevation adjustable blade type sights are horrible in my opinion, stock fitment was perfect. Forearm tenon on straight. Action was smooth.

Basically my ABL was a lot nicer rifle then my GSBL which had all those 'F'ed up and crooked incorrectly machined hand-guard to boot. Only thing I could not fix or replace was the hand-guard....can't buy a green one that matches the stock. Marlin's / Gravel warranty department is helpful but the cost and annoyance of shipping makes using the service a pain. You can likely fix most of the issues yourself. Nice thing about the "Black Knight" series is they are given the once over in the build process where it seems like the general assembly line rifles are not...sure a lot of crooked front sights out there.

Dante Sports were really good to deal with.....they did check over the rifle before it was sent by request.

In Picture below, - no my finger is not in the trigger guard. Just supporting rifle on the lever. I agree though that it looks almost like it. Scope was installed just for fun and was taken off after one trip to the range.

    Why not synthetic?

Looks like they had a ton of blemished/####ty wood and decided to paint it and sell it at a premium.
    Exactly.
For the price point they should make a quality synthetic stock, with over molded rubber in the "grip" zones.

Much cheaper to just use their usual wood production lines and craftsmen and paint with a durable coating. For limited "gimmick" type run, it makes more sense. Maybe if they sell a few thousand of these they'll come out with some plastic components. Or maybe they're waiting for Magpul to approach them and say they've designed a new lever action furniture line, would Marlin be interested?
It's definitely profit driven... a magpul option would be nice but as you also point out it's probably not a huge market.

Why not .450 Bushmaster, how about Win .350 Legend, or 7.62X39? Henry makes theirs in 6.5 Creedmore, .308 too!
When will the Marlin guys smarten up?
    Uh, duh?

Lets put a nice pointy 7.62X39, 6.5 Creedmore or .308 round in a tube mag with they're points on each-others primmer, yup, sounds good to me :P

No kidding, sounds like somebody's need to revist the CFSC book.
