#0 Buck Load for 2-3/4 12ga

9 X .32 Calibre 0 Buck pellets in 3 layers of 3
Winchester AA Hull (I used the Handicap grey ones - thanks to shooting buddy Mitch for these!)
Federal 209A primer
WAA12 Wad (I used Claybusters CB1118-12 replacement)
24.5g Universal Clays (MEC *32 bushing)

This provided for a much more manageable recoil than the benchmark Federal 12-pellet #00 Buck load. Group at 10m was under 6 inches out of my 12/5 inch Scorpion PA-01 pump action whereas the Federal load was all across an 18 inch target at the same distance. Spread at 15m was just over 12 inches and 18 inches at 20m, which I listed as the maximum effective range. No feeding issues.

I'm a little lost here. I thought 9 pellets would be 00 buckshot and the pellets actually .33". Am I reading something wrong here ?

Small difference in size, but I think pellet count is unchanged. Never used "0" buck before, though.

There is a recipe out there for 00 Buck 9 pellet loads. My order for 00 Buck (Calibre .33) has not come in yet at my LGS so I picked up two small boxes of 0 Buck (Calibre .32) just to try. This load worked so well I had to share it. I will update when the 00 Buck comes in and I have time to play with that.

All I could find in the store was a couple of 100 count boxes of 0 Buck. Not what I was looking for but good enough to get started.

I just paid $42 + tax for 5lb of #00 Buck (Hornady - good stuff but still....). I'm having trouble finding cheaper sources. May have to get into casting.
