Has anyone here loaded 2-3 000 buck pellets into a .357 Magnum case? I have heard and read of it but actual data seems pretty scarce. I'm think of starting off with 3grns of bullseye under 2 000 pellets and seeing where that gets me.

I haven't tried 000 buck in .357 but I have dabbled a little in .454 round ball in .45 Colt. Your recipe sounds workable. Google tells me that 000 buck balls weigh 70 grains each. (You might want to verify this with your scale.) So 2x70 grains = 140 grains. Study some 148 grain full wad cutter data, start low and experiment. Make sure that the balls don't fall to the bottom of the case as this might give you a dangerous pressure situation.

Kind of a funny story in here about idpa revolver and multi ball loads.
For what its worth my 45 colt double ball loads are 3.7 grains 700x clocking around 600 fps. At 10 yards they approximately shoot to point of aim with the two holes about 2 inches apart. They are fun for plinking at clays placed on the berm. In the south they are sometimes used as snake loads.

Why would you use buck for snakes? Wouldn't a smaller shot w/ denser pattern be more effective?

Two buck in a 357 does sound fun though.... like a poor mans raging judge...

Some guys are using 3 pellets. I doubt you'd be able to push them very fast but even at 700fps this would be an interesting load. I'm going to cast up a bunch of 000 pellets soon and give it a shot so to speak. I think a small charge of bullseye or titegroup is a good start. I'll try 2 pellets and go from there.

Three pieces of 30 caliber buckshot will fit inside the plastic Speer shot capsules. I can't remember what gun magazine these loads were in but they even cut up brass brazing rods to make flechette rounds.

They were experimenting in making self defense rounds for home defense that would not shoot through two walls and end up injuring your next door neighbor.

I made some of the 30 cal buckshot loads and when you pulled the trigger six times there were 18 holes in the target.

I have some 2 ball 000 loaded over 3 grains of bullseye. Unfortunately 3 balls will not chamber so I guess that idea is going nowhere. I am trying to source some speer capsules to try bigedp51's 3 #1 load.
