KBC Tools Canada lists 1/2-28 for about $14.00

I think they may have a $25.00 minimum order, however.

There is also Taylor Tool in Ontario but I think they actually make tools to order so it would likely be pretty $$ from them. I ordered a 5/8-27 tap or die (thread pitch for microphone stands) from them many years ago and it was about $40.00.

McMaster wouldn't ship to Canada when I tried a few months back.

They still ship, but only to existing customers (companies).

Acklands Granger is almost like McMaster and has stores in Canada.

Mcmaster Carr will not ship to Canada unless they have a preexisting order history with them. There should be some Canadian suppliers for the tap, kbc is a good one. If not I have gotten several orders from enco in the states. Shipping is a killer unless its usps.

The 1/2X28 tap I bought from KBC was made in Poland. Top quality high speed steel tap. Cuts CRS and stainless like butter.
