Buying a new scope for my T3X Battue in 308, trying to decide between the 1-4 or 2-7. Shots will be anywhere from 30-200 yards, either will work but looking for input from the CGN community

Leupold vx-3i 2.5-8x36 in a quick detach MaSi mount. It's how I went with my Battue and I'd do the same thing over again if I had to.

I wouldn't put a Hubble on a carbine. A small/handy rifle deserves a small/handy scope.

I'd use a Leupold 1.5-5 on this rifle.

My Battue is equipped currently with the best option....a 1-6! Trijicon TR-25. Allows for true 1x (0) magnification with a huge FOV - Or dial it up to 6x which is plenty for out to 200. 2-7x or 1-4x are fine as well (I've had both on my Battue) but the 1-6 is the most versatile and still compact. why compromise?

I need to stay with a smaller objective lenses with the Battue sights so nothing larger than a 2-7

The magnification doesn't necessarily have a direct relationship to the objective diameter. You can get Leupold Ultralights in 3-9X33mm and the 2.5-8 is a 36mm. If your goal is a smaller objective diameter, then perhaps the Ultralight is a good way to go in the VX-2 3-9x33mm. The other possible option is a shorter scope that ends behind the rear sight. There is a short barrel VX-3 1.75-6X32mm.

Thanks a lot Hoyt for all the options

For the low end of 30 yard shots you mention, I'd look for the 1.5-5x or 1-6x leupolds. They will be great out to your longer range of 200 yards as well.

Leupold 1-4 is still one of my all time favorites.

It’s lightweight, compact and I find the perfect variable power for out to 200 yards.
