I have a black rifle with a 18 '' barrel/ 1 in 7 twist. every body said that they love 69 & 77 gr. bullets. why? would a heavy bullet produce better grouping ?
i seems to have the opposite result
advise pl.:)

No.

The faster twist allows you to shoot heavier bullets like the 77's, but does not require that you do.

The heavier bullets, while not more inherintly accurate, will buck the wind better at longer distance shooting due to their better BC.

Do some testing and see what your rifle likes. Each rifle is different. My 1/7 shoots little bugholes with 52 grain sierra match kings and 25 grains of H-335.

should be able to shoot most any bullet with a 7 twist, although there is a chance that some of the really light bullets will come apart in flight if pushed too fast. Personally I stick to 50 grains and heavier...

The twist rate has more to do with bullet length than weight. It just happens that longer bullets, are generally heavier.
But todays new alloy, or copper bullets, can give you both worlds. Longer, and still lighter.
Just another option for you.
It all comes down to what your rifle likes to shoot.
