What’s the size of the tube on your scope...?
1" scope rings are the norm. Quality 30mm tubed scopes generally are priced higher than 1" scopes. Larger tube in summary means better light transfer and clarity. The average shooter generally has a 1" scope/ring setup. If you alrady have a scope you need the right size ring to fit it.

A 30mm tube means better overall structural strength and more room for added internal adjustments for windage and elevation....and not much else. High quality glass will decide light transmission, color contrast, and clarity....not lens size.

If you really don't know what scope you're getting, and you need to make a decision - go with 30mm.
If the scope you buy turns out to be a 1", you can trade the 30mm straight across to somone else in the Equipment Exchange.
30mm rings seem to move a lot quicker in the EE than 1". Try to trade 1" for 30mm, and all you'll hear is crickets.
If in doubt about the height you need- pick medium.
