1" Scope Tube Question

Anyone know how many clicks a 1" scope tube has up to down?

Reference where the up turret is now, remember it or mark it as zero.
Then count clicks/full revolutions up, record that number.
Then return to zero on the turret and count all the clicks down until it stops.

Now you have the come ups max and the down max.
So if your firearm is zeroed at 100yds and the turrent from there comes up 60clicks total, and you have a 1/4" turrent, you have 15" comeup @ 100yds.

As mentioned above they are all different and usually not what the manufacurer says in sales literature.
Make sense?

If you bought a 20 MOA (80 clicks up) Picatinny Rail would a scope with a 1" tube have enough clicks to zero that scope at 100 yards?

Most scopes will have at least 60 MOA max of windage and elevation (30 MOA up, 30 MOA down), so yes.

If not, your scope is either:
a) Too cheap
or
b) You're too clost to the target. :D

Some higher end scopes (30mm or 34mm tubes) will have up to 200 MOA of total adjustment.

Some 1" scopes run out around 400+ yds. It is really hard to say without more info. If you are asking so you can oreder a particular scope, ask manufacture the comeups. If they say it will come up 50 clicks figure on about 35-40, then if zero eats up 10 you're down to say 25 for comeups for longer range shooting. If using .308 165gr you're probably gonna run out of comeup around 3-400 yds.

It will depend on how man clicks you "use" to get the scope/rifle zeroed.

Generally speaking the bigger the diameter of the tube the more up/down built into the scope and available to use. My 35mm has 140 MOA adj.

You really have to know the manufacture's total elevation adjustments
