I am looking for people opinions of the following 3 guns I have narrowed my choice down to. This gun will be used for all around range use, target shooting and plinking at the range I have shot and handled a 226 but I am looking for experiences and opioning on overall finish and bang for the buck for the buck with each of these guns.

My Shadow IMHO is fantastic in the hand, fun to shoot, more accurate than me, the exterior finish is great, the machine marks are there when you take it apart, but doesn't bother me at all. The sights are decent and the trigger is pretty darn good as well. I would buy another one in a heartbeat. We'll I kinda want to get a P-09 Duty though.

asking other people for their opinion on which of these guns is best for you... that's kind of like asking total strangers to pick your wife for you. You gotta try 'em all and keep the one that feels best in your hands.

I have both a 40 p226 stainless and a 9 mm
cz 85 b my comp buddy has a shadow and the glock as stated by the last post
Sig is big in the hand / heavy but so is a mercades
on the other hand the cz fit the grip very well .
A few flaws with the cz plastic guild rod .
Not a big deal . Sig is so tight fit and finish likes to be clean but she runs and runs and runs
cz is good after a few mods
in a fire fight I'd grab my sig at the range I like the cz .
Both great guns that's why I have one of each .

Your best bet is at least to handle both and try to shoot both if possible. As mentioned, both great guns.
CZ are very well made for the price and SIGs prices are pretty good right now with availability at just over 925$
You will probably end up buying both in the long run

do you have any experience in comparing it with a 226

Nope, would like to shoot one though, but don't feel the need for another 9, since I like what I have now.

Haha, some people don't try out their wife until after they marry them, and they do fine!!!!!

I've shot both and went with the CZ. For me the Sig's higher bore axis seemed to make it harder to get the best groups. When I really concentrate on the basics of a totally "dead" grip of the gun I can do fine. But the higher bore axis produces a little more rotation in the recoil which seems to make me automatically begin to try to "fight" the gun instead of just hold it. The lower bore axis of the CZ just makes this tendency less. So for me the CZ is easier to shoot better.

This all came out when I rented some CZ's and Sigs for a while at DVC before actually getting my RPAL and buying my first handgun. So I went into it with no personal self interest at all. But in shooting some friends' Sigs since that time I've only confirmed my initial finding that I did right by going with CZ over Sig.

It's also interesting to note that a shooting buddy and long time SIG fan did better in his IPSC scores when he converted to CZ a couple of years back.

Really some of the striker guns are even better for this as they can have a higher beavertail area since there's no pivot for the hammer which isn't there. But those guns are all polymer which I find tend to kick more even if the kick is more straight back. And I just simply prefer the feel of a hammer gun trigger over a striker trigger.

I have shot both the P226 and CZ SP01

CZ SP01 tactical Pros over the SIG
-Quality is better then SIG USA
-very lower muzzle raise
-lots of uprades around
-decocks into half #### pos.
-slide catch does not get in the way of your thumbs while shooting
-Price

SIG pros over the CZ SP01 Tactical
-more sight options
-larger slide to grip on too for racking
-lighter
-more holster options
-larger ejection port for clearing jams

Both CZ and SIG are very accurate and reliable guns

High bore axis!!!!!!!
One of the most overated things in shooting.
Buy the one that fits your hand better, the cz is the bigger of the 2

CZ is heavier than SIG. I tried both and I prefer CZ Shadow over regular SIG 226. If your budget allows, you can look at SIG 226 X-Five.

This is true, and so is the Sig. For me the Sig is more accurate and although I like both, the Sig fits me better.
You will be surprised to try the Cz75B and Shadow, the grips are different with the best being the plastic ones in the 75B, the shadow (specially the aluminum grips) felt llke a 2 by 4 in my hand.
Try both and choose wisely, I would recommend putting 150-200 rounds through each and figure how your hand feels after that amount of shooting, all guns feel ok if you only shot 2 mags. Rent one from one of the guys at the range, invest 50 bucks, beer money, something and ask politely, there are lots of nice people at some ranges, not always, but there are some. ;)

I have owned both and still have the CZ Shadow, great gun, very accurate and easy to shoot well...

Both are great pistols. Both, however are priced quite differently.
For the money saved on Sig You are not loosing accuracy or reliability by going with CZ75.
Again, both platforms are great, but CZ has lower bore axis, the same accuracy...if not better, nicer price sticker and as good history behind.
Good luck with your choice.

I have both and can't put one over the other but once you hold the CZ 75 you will be hooked on how natural it feels. It's a win win situation no matter which one you choose between the two.

I have owned a SP01 and I have a collection of sigs.

If I had to chose one in 9mm, I don't know if I could. I like different things about both pistols.

The CZ75 are excellent pistols, very good quality and performance for the $$$.

Others have mentioned the benefits and cons of each, one benefit that I will add for the CZ > Sig is the lower slide profile makes it easier to get a high grip/bore. This makes the pistol more instinctive to point and shoot accurately as well as control in my experience, hence why I really like glocks as well. The CZ have excellent triggers from factory and I really enjoy shooting them.

The Sigs are very nice pistols, I don't find the American made ones as bad as others here claim... and I own several genuine German made Sigs. German made sigs definitely have better fit and finish and I find the decocker/trigger smoother than American strait from factory pistols (including the elite), but I have never had any FTF/FTE from any of my sigs, and I find the accuracy is about par on all of them.

I do prefer the sig controls to the CZ, and I do find the Sig more comfortable in the hand. The sigs do have a very high slide profile compared to the CZ, and for speed drills I did find I was faster with a CZ for that reason. The Sigs do have a lot more options for accessories and parts though, with a substantial aftermarket industry and excellent mastershop services available... although I would say that the SP01 Shadow is on par with a tuned sig elite, perhaps better than most of the Sig line (226R- Elite) in terms of accuracy and performance.

Just my .02

If money is a factor save a few hundred and get the CZ75/holster and ammo as you will still come in under the price of a used Sig. If you are wanting night sights and more holster options... or you just like sigs, keep your eyes to the EE and you can probably land a nice used pistol with holster and mags for under $1k. Personally for sigs I like the non railed 226, (I like the look and feel) these tend to be a lot cheaper and with a few $$ in springs you can keep them tuned up nicely yourself. For $60 Questar you can get new springs and a SRT, keeping your pistol going for years.
