$10,000 for guns for great grandkids

10K isn't enough for me, what with todays prices. My 1/2 filled wish list!

Lets say Savage 12F/TR 308 = $1250
NightForce scope, rings, base = $2450
press, dies, acc. = $540
1000 bullets, 400 brass, 8lbs powder, 5000 primers = $1200
Shooting accessories = $440
gun cleaning = $110
gun case = $335
membership at range = $100 - $300
PAL/RPAL course = $140 Total = $6765

9mm STI TagetMaster + tweaks = $2200
xtra mags, holster = $500
Dies, 8lbs powder, 2000 bullets, brass, primers = $690
gun case, accessories = $80
Total $10235 + gst = $10746

Thats just for 2 fine firearms! We all know 2 is not enough!

I'd split it in 3... and get 3 'nice' piece...

1 rifle, something like a Cooper M52

1 shotgun... something SxS or O/U in 20g

1 pistol, something like a custom Dlask 1911

Ten Grand for the grand children would go in an RESP for their education if they wanted it. If not it would return to the investor.
$10,000 would not cover what I would buy.
M1942 original U.S. Airborne Jump Jacket---$3500
M1942 Original U.S. Airborne Jump Trousers---$1200
M1940 Original Corcoran Jump Boots---$300 to $500
M-1C D-bale helmet with correct Airborne Hawley fiber liner---$15,000 to $20,000
M-1A1 Folding stock Carbine preferably Irwin Pedersen or even National Postal Meter{yeah I know they didn't make the M1A1, but I can dream can't I}---$7500 to $12,000.
Lets see...that equals at least $27,500 to $37,200
If your gonna dream you might as well dream BIG!!!!
Cheers

$10000 is hard. Enough to buy a great gun but not enough for a hierloom like a Holland and Holland or other english made double. Maybe the best old english 7X57 rifle I could get for $10000 ??

i would put that money towards my own personal range when i buy a house in the rurals. i have enough guns... for now.

If I could only have $10k worth of handguns, well, f**k, ummmmm..... let's try:

STI Legend 40SW with extra mags - $4k
Smith Wesson 686 6" s/s 357mag - $1k
Ruger Blackhawk 4 5/8" blued 357mag - $700
Kimber Raptor s/s 45acp - $2k
Glock G17 9mm (sentimental fav) - $700
Smith Wesson 500SW - $1500
==========================
Should take us to about $10k
Has a little bit of everything, hopefully enough to show the grandkids what guns were like in my day

i was thinking of buying that s&w 500, but i know it would get used a couple times and the novelty would wear off... fast! it's a nice gun to hang on the wall and look at from time to time.
