Does anyone know of any good 50 shot clips for 10/22 and where to buy them? Has anyone tried the 50rnd MWG Teardrop drum magazine? Does it work well and stand up to use and abuse?

I'll let you know in a few day, I just bought a 10/22 with 2 of the MWG Drum Mags. When I get the time, I'm expecting to run a few bricks out of the 10/22.

The catch that holds the cover on the MGW 50 round mag I have broke after just a few uses, I wouldn't buy another. You are better off with a couple of 25 round steel lips magazines stuck together in my opinion, they don't break and you can reload them with the various quick reloading tools in seconds. If you still want one TSE usually has them, that is where I bought mine.

My advice as well, stay away from the 50rnd MWG Teardrop drum magazine. They may look neat, however I bought one and got rid of it as they are frustrating to use and not very well designed in my opinion.

Stick with the Butler Creek steel lips, I have used them for years with no real problems.

I disagree with some of the others comments on the drum, and agree with others -

First - the snap cover does break easily - but, thats nothing you can't fix with a thick elastic band, so I don't see that as a problem. They reload very quickly and easily.

Second - the spring didn't go so easily for me, I screwed it up once, rewound it (with difficulty and persistence). They also jam here and there if you're too quick on the trigger.

Last - There is nothing quite lick banging of 50 shells in a row just for the hell of it!

While I wouldn't say that the drum is the best made product I've seen, I still like mine. I only own one (and wouldn't have two) but if broke, I'd probably replace it.
Just my opinion.

10/22 50 round mags

I know it's heresy to say this but I have had great luck with a Ramline 50 round double stack mag. Now I only have 1 so maybe I got the only decent one ever made but mine works almost flawlessly, even better than my Butler Creek Steel Lips mags.
