I've got a 10/22 on the way. I'm getting it with the intention of modifying it tacti-cool style. Is there a Canadian dealer website (preferably a sponsor here) that carries a large selection of accessories that I can browse through? It's been a while since I've owned a 10/22 so I'm kinda behind the times as to what is actually available, especially here in Canada.

I'm gonna need to look it over when it gets here to see what it already has, but I'm thinking I'm gonna need:

- 16" barrel (preferably bull and fluted)
- aggressive extractor (I just HATE it when I need to use the tip of my knife to extract a misfire)
- extended mag release
- auto-bolt release thingamajigger (although I think I remember seeing instructions around here somewhere on how to do it myself)
- pistol gripped stock of some sort (not decided yet; if you have any suggestions, fire away!)
- at least a few 25 rnd mags

Man... I'm gonna have to sell another gun just to pay for the accessories!!

The joys of a 10/22.

Thanks in advance for all the tips, urls, and suggestions!!

First of all, congrats. It's gonna be a blast....no pun (fully) intended. ;)

Second of all, peruse some of the threads here - they have a lot of useful info, and more than a few creative and, dare I say it, "wicked-cool" ideas (hey, it's a tacticool thread, I can use words like that freely! :D).

Third, rimfiresports is a good place to start for internals, etc. They Do ship here (though stocks are hit with a shipping charge :().

What else? Stocks can include the Tapco T-6, the Evo, the Nordic (the last two being higher-end), not to mention Ramline and Butler Creek (as they seem to be the most common folders :)).

Or you can get a Boyd's stock, if you like - though they are not really that "tacticool".

Mags? I have to beat Lone Wolf and recommend TI (Tactical Inc) mags [TI25's]. They are "cheaper in the long run", and plenty allright (see my comment above about words used here ;)).

Good luck!

I haven't bought from them but a friend didn't have any trouble getting small parts across the border from www.hawktecharms.com

I ordered 2 TI mags and a bolt buffer from TacInc, they emailed me later saying that they could not ship bolt buffers across the border. That I found odd.

Just email them before you place the order and make sure everything you order won't have issues. Also remember you cannot order barrels from the US.

Well, that's kinda the highest thing on my wish list is a sub-18" barrel. Green Mountain has a 16.5" fluted sporter barrel that would look awesome.

Are there ANY dealers in Canada that can get me this barrel?!? (or anything similar)

Matthew

I got my tapco t6 off ebay and it made it up. I added a sling to it and bought reflex red dot from local gun shop. I ordered a bipod /front grip combo for like twenty bucks off ebay and it came from hong kong. It seems ok quality.
I ordered some 30 round mags from TI also. I am ordering a flash hider/muzzle break bolt on thing from think Rimfire sports. they seem to ship to canada this little stuff you mentioned. I will be ordering that little stuff shortly as well as think hogue overmold stock. found a source for green mountain barells in canada will get a stainless bull barell from them and that will pretty much complete my other ruger 22.

Here are some pics of my tapco stock 22. Sorry pics are a bit dark.

The tapco was pretty simple to install no complaints with quality other than maybe some casting mark things that run up and down in a few places on the stock. Not a big issue .could maybe paint the stock if it really bothered me. I think should have maybe got the cool green stock the black is a bit boring.

So far have had zero problems getting my toys across the border. My tapco stock came up fine. Got a laser/flashlight picanny rail mount no problem.Got a red green bushnell scope no problem. Got bipod /front grips no problem from hong kong.
So far so good.

It was easy to install and really think its cool.It has the built in rails under there to attach cool toys. It has the adjustable stock. Whats not to like! LOL
And it was pretty reasonable in price. As said maybe should have got it in green but whatever.

Oh dang, and I just found this thread. I'm way behind. I will add that Fabsports also has the tactical inc magazines.

Ordered from both rimfire sports and hawktech, both are great to deal with. You can't go wrong with either of them.

Another company that will ship up north is Brownells. SKSman(he does have 10/22 stuff) should as well.

Who's selling Tuffer Buffers now also?

Oh well, I guess I wait then. I have to wait 5 weeks for the 11.5 inch barrel from (Ronin) anyway. :runaway:

How about stocks though? I'm debating between a Christie's Super Stock or a Tapco T6. Thoughts? Suggestions? Places in Canada to buy?!?

Matthew

I think the Christie's Super Stock is over the $100 limit. So your pretty much screwed there. BUT I have seen them for sale in the EE.

I guess it is a good thing I ordered my TI mags when I did. Ooo sweet they just cleared customs too.

Don't forget it is 100 dollars whole sale cost.

tapco

Wolverine Supplies in Manitoba carries the Tapco Fusion stock, it is $125.00.
Frontier Taxidermy has the Butler Creek folders for 120.00
