So I have been looking to get a basic 10/22 to use in a project for a while now. I have been checking the EE multiple times a day but have had no luck. I started calling firearm distributors such as Basspro, Lebarons, Sail....however they have all told me that they are all sold out and I won't be able to find one anywhere since there is a 100,000+ back order on them from Ruger. How true is this statement? Are they really getting sold that fast that I can't find any in Ontario? Anyone have any suggestions?

Thanks,

Doug

yeah its true, Ruger had to stop accepting orders to fill current ones. Same story around my way. Even the bushnell trs ive got on order is backordered along with alot of other products. Seems the US firearms industry is on fire right now.

Ya at the Lebarons near me I got the last one. I'm sure some sponsors will have some though. I think Wolverine has some although there not the completely standard ones. Just look around.

give jo-brooks a call here in brandon, i was in there today and was humming and hawwing between another 10/22 and a cz 22 bolt gun.

they had a few different models on the shelf, plus an older unit that someone rebarrelled with a tactical solutions aluminum barrel that's pretty sweet.

i ended up buying a NIB cz 513 farmer for $329 plus tax :)

Local store here, Shooters Choice in Waterloo, had a plain-jane 10/22 last I checked for $285. They offer shipping through their website; www.shooterschoice.com .

I'm not sure what their online service is like, but their in-store service seems lacking at times. Still, might be worth checking out.

C&P from a thread of mine on the same topic
March 21, 2012

Sturm, Ruger & Company, Inc. (NYSE:RGR), announced today that for the first quarter 2012, the Company has received orders for more than one million units. Therefore, the Company has temporarily suspended the acceptance of new orders.

Chief Executive Officer Michael O. Fifer made the following comments:

The Company's Retailer Programs that were offered from January 1, 2012 through February 29, 2012 were very successful and generated significant orders from retailers to independent wholesale distributors for Ruger firearms.

Year-to-date, the independent wholesale distributors placed orders with the Company for more than one million Ruger firearms.

Despite the Company's continuing successful efforts to increase production rates, the incoming order rate exceeds our capacity to rapidly fulfill these orders. Consequently, the Company has temporarily suspended the acceptance of new orders.

The Company expects to resume the normal acceptance of orders by the end of May 2012.

The Company will announce its results and file its Quarterly Report on Form 10-Q for the first quarter of 2012 on Tuesday, May 1, 2012, after the close of the stock market.
