Hey fella's, got a new 10/22 and was wondering what bipods you are using and how you are mounting them on a stock gun that has no sling mounts.

Thanks Killman

You can add studs if you wish. There are threaded studs available.

I had the DSP version, and while I could attach a sling, it didn't have the proper studs to fit a bipod. There are bipods available that clamp to the barrel, but I wasn't comfortable with that idea (I can only assume that would negatively affect accuracy?).

Anyhow, my solution was to replace the stock with one with studs, in my case, a Hogue Rubber Overmolded.

The bipod I'm currently using is a Rockmount 9-13" model because I didn't know any better. Now that I know they are a Harris knockoff, I have a Harris coming in the mail, and I will be able to compare shortly.

Having said that, I have used said Rockmount on my .22 LR, .223 Rem and .30-06 Spld and haven't had any issues. It still works fine.

I still use Harris bipods for anything (I hate using garbage gear). It is easy enough to drill a stock for a sling swivel stud (or swap out the factory stock for something a bit better ;)

I swapped out my sling mounts on my 10/22T with the Uncle Mike's quick disconnect ones, just a simple lefty loosey, righty tighty job and it was done.

I have yet to get my bi-pod though but it will be a 9-13 harris with swivel and leg notches. That just connects onto the sling stud.
