10/22 Blaster style stock worth it?

Kind of debating whether to buy one. Currently using the laminate factory stock that comes with the "T" model. Nothing wrong with it at all, just lacks the bling....
Hows the ergonomics of the Blaster/Yukon style stocks? Are they comfy to shoot with? Probably useless for prone but good standing/bench. Are they fairly heavy?
 
I really like the Yukon/Blaster stocsk. Very comfy for offhand and fairly stable off the bench as well. I think they weigh about 2.5-2.75lbs. They look really nice as well.

I am happy I got one.
 
had the T stock... but in the end you get the one you like...

The stock pictured above is similar to a blaster but better suited for benchrest. My Boyd's Blaster (pictured below)is a pure offhand stock.
In fact it is a specialized offhand stock, the very high comb only works well with high mounted, large objective scopes.
I did not find it suitable for benchrest, The stock does not ride the bags well for four reasons:
a)The extreme drop at heel means it is very tippy on the bags.
b)The forend is too short, too narrow, and too rounded to counteract this.
(Proper benchrest stocks have minimal drop at the heel and a long, perfectly flat forend 3" wide)
c)The surface that rests on the rear bag is very short and not at the same angle as the forestock. This means the shots pull high as it recoils and there is almost no adjustment room fore and aft on the rear bag
d)The cant to the right means the rifle recoils slightly sideways, pulling shots left.

Despite these problems I found mine worked pretty well with a 4"-6" (BR) Harris bipod.

I was very flattered when he asked to use a pic of my rifle after looking over hundreds of custom rifles on RFC.

Those Zappers are a very accurate high velocity round but the lot I had there had quite a few FTFs, about one in 30 or 40, sometimes two per box.
The only non-match HV round I have found that was more accurate was Super x Power Points (X22LRPP). The PPs were also faster, more reliable, hit harder, and had a huge honking hollowpoint cavity.

The white boxes on top were bulk packs of dynapoints before they were sold in Canada as dynapoints.

Bet you have the same difficulties benchresting your Revival that I have with my Blaster. The basic shape looks very similar.

It sure isn't near as stable as the 52D, thats for sure ;). Benching the revival is difficult, but I have managed to shoot a 249-16X on the USBR at 25 yards with it. The back of the stock is real hard to keep steady on a rear bag.
 
well, I'll probably get one just for ####s and giggles, and keep this one as I do like it for bench shooting.

Thats are really nice rifle you got there Hitzy. Could you give a run down of what you have there.

I don't mind the blaster stocks, however, now I kind of want to get away from the thumbhole look. Not that I don't like it I just want to try something new.

I have a Revival stock in Cayanne laminant color. The picture doesn't do it justice. It is one of the nicest lamiant's I have owned.

nothing fancy, GM barrel, VQ trigger-bolt release-mag release, it started out as a T model, and I find the trigger pull is OK as is, just the over travel was brutal, so the VQ trigger worked great for that.
