10/22 bolt blackened

Hi guy's, I have a 10/22 bolt and wish to blacken/blued it. My question is if anyone here has done such a thing and how would I go about doing this.

I have never heard of anyone wanting to do that before. I think that the 10-22 bolt is stainess and can not be darkened with conventional blue and would need some type of layered finish that would interfere with the function and relaibility of the action.

They can be blued..but most don't

You'll need bluing salts and a sealer,but i'd polish the bolt right up before doing so

One company(can't remember right now) sells a black 10/22 bolt

Put lots of remington subsonic through it and don't clean it... It'll turn black....

Thanks, I just could not remember the guy's handle. This saves me from buying the DuraCoat System from lauer weaponry.
