Waaay out west.
Just a quick question. I'm assuming that the bullet has left the barrel of a 10/22 before the bolt hits the buffer? If this is true then the type of buffer used should not affect accuracy, right?

If not, could the choice of buffer affect accuracy?

Nope....shouldn't effect accuracy in terms of "bullet meets target" Clobbersauras.
But the type of buffer you choose can definitely affect the cycling of your action!

The buffer will just make for a much quieter action, much less "clunk" than stock.
It's likely the only thing in the action the doesn't affect accuracy.

From my understanding, when a .22 is fired, the case expands and seals off the chamber. Locking everything in place. Once the bullet has left the barrel, the pressure subsides enough for the case to loosen it's grip and then it starts traveling backwards, cycling the action.
