10/22 bolt buffers

For the cost it is an excellent upgrade. A member here may have an extra kicking around or you could try P&D (who are site sponsors here) or Rimfire Sports.

The buffer takes alot of the shock from the bolt. The factory one is steel and goes through the reciever. When the bolt comes back it needs something to stop it. The steel one is loud and has no give. The polyurethane ones flex taking alot of the shock and you don't have the steel and steel sound.

I've been using a bolt buffer I bought from BCBoy for over a year now. I have close to 6000 rds on it, and it is still holding up. I love the lack of "clink" noise with it installed. Money well spent...

get two. it will be time to replace it after a few years (of use) and the shipping alone is not worth getting only one.... Do not get 3.... you will likely not need them. Your grandchildren will shoot rim-laser

kidding aside, is worth getting them.

It also makes the recoil easier on your scopes. Granted a .22 has little recoil to begin with, but the lack of the bolt slamming into steel sure takes a lot of the impulse out of the picture.

BCBoy's ones work great. I have almost 4000 round through mine, and there is not a mark on it. Perfection! It's a steel rod covered by a plastic of some sort...
