Hi guys!

My 10/22 broke down a few months back but I have been to lazy to do anything about it!

Basically I was shooting the rifle (fairly rapidly - i dont have much accuracy anyways) when it jammed and I looked like something fell out of the gun besides the spent shell!

I think I found anything that fell out.

Near the charging handle there is a spring loaded black metal rod (very tiny)
it seems to be loose and able to fall out... its length is about 1 or 2 cm long and has one end having a larger diameter.

Do you guys recommend bringing this rifle into a gunsmith or would this be something I can fix myself (with limited tools)

thanks so much for your help and time!

Sincerely,
kevin h

Hey guys!

Actually, it was easier than I thought...!

with the help of the internet and rugers instructions I took apart the bolt from the receiver

Yes I am missing part number 19

I am in Toronto, Ontario Canada. Is there somewhere where I can pick up this piece up on Saturday, I leave for the families cottage on Sunday:(

I miss my plinker!

thanks!

If you need one for the weekend a gunsmith may have one or someone in toronto its one of the things people replace when they tune their 10-22s as there are better ones on the aftermarket (Volquartsen and Power Custom make them). Try a message on the equipment exchange.

If you don't get one this weekend PM me your address & i'll mail you one I have a couple left over from projects, may take me a day or two to find them tho.

Hey Thanks JohnC!

I placed a wtb in the parts forum.
If nothing turns up, I will PM you next week.
Thanks so much for the kind gesture and info.

I guess I should keep calling around.

Thanks!

...how hard would it be to make one out of common materials found at home depot or canadian tire?

Don't even think about it!!! They are hardened and too cheap to go to all that trouble. The fun part is getting it back in!!! you need three hands.

10/22 extractor

Kevin~I ran my 10/22 for a long time without the extractor, no problems at all. Bear in mind though you wont be able to remove a loaded round from the chamber without firing it. Have fun plinking.

Hey thanks guys for the information and help.

A very kind gentleman graciously gave me his old stock extractor and even put it in the bolt for me:)

Thanks JACEK (aka kasat)

The level of comradery (sp?) on this online forum is unbelievable!
