quick question I should know the answer to, but dont lol. On a ruger 10/22 after the last round is fired will the bolt be automaticly locked back leaving the action open(like on a semi handgun), or will it remain closed? Thanks

Modifying stock mags to work with the CST Bolt Stop kit takes about 1/2hr with a small file. I did it to 2 stock mags and work great. I'm trying to figure out how to get my bolt stop to work with the 2 new Tac-Sol mags I just recieved. Anyone have the same issue.

NEED HELP

ciao for now

While I haven't installed the bolt hold open device on my own 10/22, the fact that it is completely modular, and very easy to take apart and put back together would suggest that it cannot be a very difficult mod.

Personally, I'd rather my bolt close than deal with proprietary mags or messing around with the factory ones to make them work with the proprietary solution. The 10/22 is designed so that dry firing it doesn't actually harm it in the same way dry firing many other rimfires does. I tend to subconsciously count my rounds out of the 10 round mags, but I have dry fired several times with my 25 rounders, and I no longer concern myself about it.

Pinking I like the 25round mag, with gophers I prefer a couple of 10 but in lulls I am constantly loading. I found with the big mags you get caught with a mag in one hand and an empty gun in the other too often.
