Looking for a replacement stock for my 10/22 compact.

First off, can you run a side folding stock on the compact?
The barrel is 16.12 inches. I believe if you put a side
folder on then the rifle then it would measure in at under 26"
and would be restricted. That's a no go.

Are there any side folders that work?

If a side folder does not work then I suppose that a tubular
collapsible stock would work (ex Tapco).

Will a clapsible AR style stock work?

Are the "New 10/22 Synthetic stocks" for $24 at hical any good?

Also can you get houge overmold in canada for a good price?

I think you're right about the Butler Creek side folder with the compact: Too short. Don't know of any other side folders. They're generally hard to find anyways.

The collapsible stocks will be fine with your compact, but I'd rather go with a standard 10/22 in a side folder, myself.

I believe the AR15-type stocks will stay over 26" OAL as guys use them on 12" bbls fairly often. The Ruger factory stocks are plain black synthetic and do not fold. They are, however, light and durable.

Dlask sells hogue stocks and IIRC they sell the sporter tapered bbl channel model as well. But be warned, it will look like a Remlin 597 IMO :p For a folder IIRC a BC folder and 18.5" bbl puts you at about 27" OAL and they have the step/shoulder for the barrel band too. Collapsible sounds like the best option
