Seeing lots of "new" 10/22's on the EE for ~$300+.... does anyone ever shop at cnd tire or wholesale or bass pro??? Cost for new in box is never over $250in Alberta.

Are they more expensive out east or something?

Supply is low so some guys get it in their head they can make a bunch of money. They may sell in peak gopher season if people are desperate but come past Aug. not many people will even look at buying a 10/22 let alone one at an inflated price.

Don't forget that every province aside from Alberta has PST, so you can tag on another 7+% to the prices. The EE is also famous for people trying to get more than list for used guns, this is nothing new.

$250 + $.25 markup for every round you have fired though it + 20% = EE Price

Seems to be the way. That's what I don't get all the props about EE trades. Why would I want to pay the same or more for a used gun, than I would for retail. He!!, at crappy tire I can even use my bonus bucks.

If you see a basic 10/22 with a cheap scope and stock and the seller is asking what he has invested in it just ignore it.

However there are many deals to be had when guys have tricked out a 10/22 with different chassis, barrel, trigger group that can be purchased for half of what is invested into them.

I really think that the unrealistic deals on the EE are by people who really don't want to sell.

What Canadian tire sells them ? I've been to the one in Vegreville and 3 in Edmonton and they don't sell anything except pellet and paintball guns . I must come to Calgary if this is the case ! I buy ammo there though .
Bought mine at Wholesale Sports in Lethbridge for $269 . Just the basic with a stainless barrel .
Some people on the E.E. have some pretty expensive aftermarket mods and scopes on them . They can get a fair price if the buyer is looking for the same set up in a one stop shopping deal . For me , if I was buying used , I would do some research on all of the components and add shipping to that . Then , I'm not paying more then 70 percent of that number , and that depends on how much I REALLY want that item .
10/22s are in stock all over in this neck of the woods , I'm real happy I bought new and just modded it the way I liked .
:D

If you buy from the EE, you better have a good idea of what the base item and all extras cost.

The only way I can see paying more or even close to the store price is for a rare item or something that has some serious mods. Billybob mods don't usually count. I would not pay extra for a gun simply because someone painted the stock green with a can of Krylon! I tend to avoid the bubba mods as they generally decrease the value of the gun. If someone has truly made an improvement and that improvement is not something I can buy at a store, I will look at paying a price worthy of the work. Otherwise, you can have it!

Cnd Tire on Southland Drive (South Calgary) is the only one that carries guns. I think there may be one in Red Deer as well.
