10/22 drum mags

The Shooting Edge used to sell them...around $55 if I recall. They go for WAAY more in the States, so don't bother trying to import one!

I've heard mixed reviews on them - some say they're the best thing ever, some get multiple misfeeds every time.

Personally, the only ones that are 100% reliable are the Ruger BX-1 mags... $16 each, and they are easy to clean and disassemble. Granted, they don't LOOK as cool as hi-caps, they are way more reliable. JMHO!!!

Ardent,

I don't want to rain on your parade, but I've heard nothing but crappy reviews of the MGW teardrop mags and the 30 and 50 round Ramline mags.

The 25 round Steel Lips mags will at least give you 25 rounds of jam free performance. Personally, I won't waste my money on anything else.

50 rounds

Hey Ardent,
Butler Creek 10/22 mags are made to be coupled...top-bottom. that will allow ya 50 rounds...looks good to...kinda like and AK config. Make sure to go Steel lips and not hot lips...

10/22 50 rounders

Ram-Line makes a 50 round stick mag for the 10/22. While I know the Ram-Line mags get a bad rap I guess I am lucky because mine works pretty flawlessly.

When the bad guys are charging your position,, how good is "pretty flawlessly"? Gophers would be at your throat in a second!!!;) Cooey's never let you down.

I have had 3 butler creek mags before 2 of them ended up in the trash can since they had feeding problems, the other one works quite well.
I am looking for better mags myself will update you guys when I find a reliable one

Everybody rags on the MWG drum mag. I have one, and I really like mine...it loads fast, and its fun to bang off 50 shells out of something....but, it is true that they are not trouble free. I wouldn't go out of my way to get one, unless it was cheap.

My steel lips don't work verry well... but my ram line 30 works 100%... but im sure the lips will wear out in not to much time.

My experiences with 10/22 mags is just the opposite  .

The BC Steel Lips are the only aftermarket mags that I have had good luck with. The BC Hot Lips & Ram Lines (20's & 30's) work good when they are new but after a few bricks they seem to go downhill in a hurry.

The most common mags that seem to be availiable are the BC's. I did see Ramline 30's for sale out in LaCrete, AB at a Home Hardware for $36.99. I've never tried the BC mags. I''ve got an old Ramline 30, my MWG drum, and 4 Ruger factory mags. I find that the Ramline jams fairly often (but its pretty old, and you can see the wear on it). My MWG has at least one stove pipe or feed failure everytime if I REALLY push it (try to bang off 50 as fast as I can) - if I'm not so trigger happy its just fine - and I cannot remember a single time that the Ruger factor 10 rounder has ever jammed or failed to feed. For my 10 rounders, I bought a neat little clip that holds all 4 of 'em together (it looks like a cross with the 4 mags attached) and is pretty good for a quick reload.

I got a BC one at the flea market a while ago, steel lips. Best thisng I have gotten for my 10/22 for under $5. I did take on a little winter project tho... it is not 100% done but I will post pics when its done. It is a built from scratch 500 round drum mag for my 10/22 :D
