So I have this new 10/22 barrel. Ran a cloth patch to get the oil out. The cloth patch catches and actually damaged the extractor groove. Do I need to be worried for saftey? Reliability?
Any thoughts?

Yup. I pulled a cloth patch thru with a peice of nylon weed whacker cord and Remington brute bore cleaner.
Where the extractor groove meets the breech face is VERY thin compared to the factory Ruger barrel.

Well I'm sending back I'm sure it's not normal I'm not going risk shooting it. The manufacturer should take care of it. Fixable? It appears one would have to "put metal back on". Unless there is room to play with in the 10/22 headspace... I suppose as long as the bolt still meets up tight to the barrel, you could just take more off?

Yes guys it's going back and the manufacturer and they've promised to make it right. It's not Dlask or NEA. It's a non-sponsor vendor. A lot of people around here would know of them but I'd rather not say who it is and start a big ol classic cgn shytstorm.
