Hey guys, was out shooting the 10/22 yesterday and had horrible results with federal champion ammunition. Mostly stovepipes and FTE's. The first few bricks through the gun were remington thunderbolts which were about 99 percent reliable but really dirty. I tried the federal and man, what a way to ruin a few hours, very frustrating. I think that I would like to upgrade the extractor as from what I have read this could improve the the issues I am having but cannot find a canadian retailer other than amazon.ca and its around 35 dollars instead of 12. Any advice?
Thanks.

I have had the same issue as you encountered. Don't worry, after few hundreds round, My 10/22 are not picky at all now. She can eat anything.

Have you purchased it from CanAm?

I agree that with time/shooting the 10-22 "breaks in" and these ammo issues decline

I have a volquartsen extractor in my SR22. It is excellent. Got it from Brownells.

Hey guys, thanks for the replies. I went with the kidd extractor purchased from Dlask. They were kind enough to ship it in an envelope and only charged a few bucks for shipping. I will be installing it when it arrives and will hopefully get out shooting again soon, will report.

I found the problem with a new 50th Anniversary... there are sharp edges in the bolt, making the extractor not function properly.
remove the extractor clean up the edges, replace the extractor...ensure in moves freely
This worked for me.
