I am posting this info as an option to pinning the firing pin down on the 10/22 bolt. It involves adding a small amount of material to keep the front of the firing pin down so it contacts the rim of the round correctly. I prefer to put a small spot of weld on the back of the bolt, but when I first tried it, I used jb weld, just to see if it would work. It worked well, and that rifle still shoots well, although it isn't mine, did that one for a friend. If you look closely at the rear of the bolt where the pin sits, there is a small flat, you add a small amount of jb or actual weld to the firing pin in this position, then file to fit. You want to get to a point where the firing pin will just slide forward with the roll pin installed. What this does is forces the front of the pin to stay down where it needs to be. I have done this to many rifles and so far, I have not had an issue with function. The critical part is to get the added material in the right position, and the correct amount. If you look closely, you can see the area on this bolt where the added material hits the bolt.
