10/22 Frankenstein Version 2016.A

so, i think i did pretty good.
i left my 10/22 build alone for at least a year before i started doing stuff to it again.
i know i know!
i keep coming on and saying "here it is, im done tinkering with it!"
but lets face facts, your never DONE tinkering with a gun you build.

so here is my 2016 'tweaks' that i just added, there are only 2.

1) i picked up some Kidd Countersink'd Threaded Receiver Pins. figured since i had the stage 2 Kidd trigger what is an additional $30 to make it solid.

2) and most importantly i finally decided to take my build off the Hogue Over-molded stock and put it on a Boyd Pro Varmint stock. I had been on the fence about doing this for a couple years as i REALLLLLLLLLLLLY like the Hogue stocks but i think it was time i went to the nice laminate stock to give my prized build the uber nice look and feel it deserves. the delay was also compounded by the canadian dollar this last year, but i finally just bit the bullet and picked up the stock.

results: LOVE IT!

went with a color i dont see or havnt seen in person and i really like it and the feel of the stock in hand..... oh my...... orgasmic!

without further delays i submit for your approval the 2016 updates to my build.

i havnt yet.
im taking a couple days to think about what i want to do with it.
im thinking ill bed the action and free float the barrel.
the barrel is already 98% free floating as its only making contact right at the end.

that is kinda where im leaning right now anyways.
i thought i might go out and shoot it as it is and see what its hitting like first then if im not happy bed the action and float the barrel.
if that dosnt work then fully bed.

thats the plan, unless you have some insite you want to add?

Nothing ground breaking to share, I shoot them out of box try several things to see what the firearm takes to best and run with it. After that I simply enjoy putting rounds down range at minute of gopher or better.

That looks really good. How is the fitment with the Dlask receiver?

I have a DAR22 receiver and was considering a Boyd's stock, but was not sure how the Dlask receiver would fit.

it was snug going in.
for a second i thought i might have to give it a couple taps with a rubber mallet to help it in but it went finally.
id rather it was too tight then too loose...... hmmm..... ill just leave it at that.
