I have a 10/22 with a Dlask 16" .920 barrel. I have all of the aftermarket goodies in it with it all resting in a Barracuda stock. I haven't gotten many rounds through it since I added the Dlask barrel, as almost every other round FTE's so I ended up just putting it away and start shooting something else. Spent cases seem pretty tight in the chamber, and it did this with a wide variety of ammo, from Winchester, Federal bulk, to Eley, and SK, etc.. I have used both the Volquartsen and Power Custom extractors, and neither made any difference. How much spring tension is normally on a 10/22 extractor? Could this be the problem? I appreciate any input guys, thanks.

When you installed the Dlask barrel, did you line up the extractor slot on the barrel with the extractor claw on the bolt correctly?
With the barrel lined up as good as I can get it by eye, the extractor seems to favor the top of the slot more than being centered, but I checked the original barrel, and it looks like it is almost exactly riding in the same spot as it did in the original barrel. I can try the original spring, is it lighter than the AM one?

They can be a little tight until you get them worked in.
My 10/22 with 12" Dlask was doing this about 1 round per 25 round mag for the first several mags, maybe even 200-300 rounds then it stopped. I only shot a couple of hundred since it stopped so I am not 100% sure if it's gone for good. Either way it did get better. This was all with Winchester 333s. If it starts happening again I will try the VQ extractor as well.
I don't understand how VQ can make great aftermarket parts while packaging them with poor springs that cause malfunctions. I didn't even use the VQ extractor spring because of how obviously short it was. I did use the VQ hammer spring, and found one of my 10/22s started to misfire 1 in 15 shots. Do they even test the springs they sell?
