10/22 GSG 110 round drum mag differences between the "Grey Market" and "Canadian"

Hey Everyone, from my other thread located here saying that the Blueline version is here Ryan posted the differences of the two different mags

Some of the noticeable exterior differences of the magazines we are distributing are the markings which state the magazine is made specifically for the Canadian market and specifically for the Ruger 10/22 rifle. Some other physical exterior differences are that the alloy feed head is not removable as well as the alloy feed head is also a slightly different shape. Please note that these are the physical exterior differences that I can see in the office. I am certainly not an engineer!! Our company has been working with GSG for quite some time as most of you know developing this magazine specifically for the Canadian market and and we are very happy to finally be able to offer this product for sale. This specific magazine has been designed, manufactured, tested, marked and advertised specifically for the Ruger 10/22 rifle and the Canadian market.

Cheers,
Ryan

So in addition to the info above I thought I'd take some photos to show everyone in case you're curious. Sorry for the blurriness, camera phone isn't the best.

I'd say the magazine does seat and "click in" a little easier into my 10/22 Deluxe Sporter but I had no fitment issues with either. I have only tried firing the "Grey Market" one with CCI Blazer ammo and it wouldn't feed worth a crap (as I figured it would as they say not to use waxed ammo) but have not been able to try out the "Canadian" one yet. Let me know if you have anymore questions and I'll try to answer them as best as I can.

Thanks for the comparison

My biggest question would be what bulk ( budget ) ammo will run in either mag.

Blazer, Federal blue box, those are the two I am particularly interested in since I can almost always find one or the other locally. Especially interested in the Blazer in the Canadian version.

Thanks

Got the chance to try and loaded 5 rounds of blazer followed by 5 round of federal blue box in each mag. Federal there were no issues but the Blazer jammed everytime in both mags. Guess the blazer will be for the stick mags and I'll be buying federal for the drum.

Thank you very much for the information. I am glad the Federal has been working great, I will keep note of the Blazer when people ask for recommendations.

Cheers,
Ryan

I have 2 "grey market" mags. Loaded them both up to 110 rounds each with Remington "bucket-o-bullets" and both mags functioned great in my Ruger 10/22.

As a side note, I've run Federal blue box and Blazer in a "different" rotary mag with the same results. The Blazers created a jam-o-matic. I would say it's the ammo and not the mags.

They are not grey market mags, they are mags manufactured by GSG in Germany same as Blue lines. The box doesn't say Canadian Edition, and the girl on the back of the box has a number 9 on her T-shirt instead of a Canadian flag. The uproar is because Blue Lines mags didn't make it to Canada and fast as they wanted them to and our mags were already on the market weeks earlier. We have sold hundreds of them and they work very well, they are both made by the same manufacturer GSG. End of story.

Lol, by that same logic nobody knows how to make a semi auto 22 either as they all get gummed up by wax

1. Not all semi's get gummed up with wax.
2. A magazine is not the same as a firearm. Not comparable.

If they can't make a magazine that feeds waxed bullets, they don't know how to make a magazine.

I can easily shoot 5k of the copper washed federal through my 10/22 without any trouble, please let me know if you have found any semi auto 22 that can do the same with waxed.
