10/22 help??

I'm new to the 10/22 world, the other day I grabbed my 10/22 out of the safe and this hit the floor.


Iv checked the 10/22 parts list and can find what it is.. Like I said I'm new to the 10/22. Maybe it's not even a gun part? Lol

Yeah it's metal, I just zoomed in close. The gun is stainless.

I dont think its a 10/22 part. Try DRY FIRING and see what happens. You can manually cycle the action.

It's not a 10/22 part that I'm familiar with. How big is it? Does it look like one of the surfaces might be broken off from somewhere?

It seems to dry fire and function properly and the it seems to be a cut piece not broken, around the size of a penny I guess..

That looks like a recoil key for picatinny scope rings. They fall out if I unscrew my Warne QD rings too much.

I think you got it.. I had just taking the scope off when I found the piece! Thanks I'll check the scope and mount.

x2 - Definitely the recoil key... those buggers always fall out... only negative of the warne rings, otherwise love the rings.
